Sherwood® 23973 minor water pump repair kit, suitable for the following pumps: P171  P1710-02 , P1710A , P1710X  P172 , P1726 . P1726X  P1732-02 , P1732A , P1732X  P176-02 , P176X The newer Sherwood pumps have a press on mechanical seal.  If you have a retaining ring and a washer holding on your mechanical seal then the seal in this kit will not fit. It is easy to verify this as soon as you remove the impeller.
